I enjoy sharing my life and thoughts with others. Because I grew up in the days of analog, that meant writing letters and keeping journals. I still do that, even if much of it has become digital. That’s fine for me, because being a touch typist means that I can write at nearly the speed of thought.
But what do I want to write about? What’s my niche, my specialty, my unique take on things? What do I know that few others know? What do I want to share? And why?
The ‘why’ is easy: I’m human. Even though I am a relatively solitary introvert, I like to share my thoughts with others and interact. The ‘what’ is also easy: I love learning new things. I am curious, love deep dives, spelunking rabbit holes, and sharing what I’ve found. My interests are wide-ranging. I could fill out the rest of this post with things that interest me. Suffice it to say that I am a generalist.
What does this mean for you, Reader? It means that there will be a large dollop of Synchrondipity in this space. A collision of chance and delight in discovery. A glimmer, a catalyst for your own thoughts, a conversation starter. There will be some randomness, but also a very deep thread of connection in what I write about.
I write to share. To teach, to learn, to discover. To warn and be warned. To compare differences and commonalities of being human. To zoom into and out of the big picture and find detail and context. I write to encourage neurodiverse people like me that you do belong, and that your differences can become advantages with the right perspective.
I write to scratch an itch that is almost as old as I am. I use writing to collect and collate my thoughts, to make notes for future research projects, to learn new things and share my learning curve. Writing is like finishing a project and putting things back in order for the next one. I can go back and see what I’ve done and how I did it. And in posting selected things here, you can see it and perhaps find inspiration for yourself.
Writing is my preferred way of communicating online. It’s the product of deep dives, introspection, detail and experience. It really can’t be made into a TikTok or a YouTube video, Reel, Short, or whatever. Audio might later be a possibility, once I bust out my music collection and start listening to it again, but a regular podcast isn’t in the cards- yet. With the intrusion of AI, insistence on video, and the outright theft of personality and product, doing such things is becoming increasingly intermixed with the imposed reality of the digital elite. I don’t want that. I am a genuine person, a Mage, Old Guard, Elder, and prefer to deliver a genuine experience. If needed, I can always return to my old-school analog style of writing and add a digital kick. I hope it won’t come to that.
Stay tuned- My magical carpet needs vacuuming, and we’ll be ready to ride.
